Guiding Principles

Core Pillars

Confidential by design

What you share in a session belongs to you and your therapist. We treat therapy content as the most sensitive information we hold.

Minimal collection

We collect only what is needed to connect you with a qualified professional, run your bookings and keep your care safe.

Protected storage

Your records are stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and access is limited to those who need it.

Never sold, never advertised

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use your therapy content for advertising or AI training.

01.

Who we are

Mindstel is a digital therapy platform operated by The Blissful Station Mental Health Services Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow, India ("Mindstel", "we", "us"). Through Mindstel, you can discover qualified mental health professionals, book online or in-person sessions, complete intake forms, attend secure video sessions and exchange messages with your therapist.

This policy applies to the Mindstel website and apps. It describes our practices as the platform; your therapist is an independent professional responsible for their own clinical and professional obligations towards you.

02.

Information we collect

Account details

Name, email address, phone number and password when you create an account. If you sign in through a connected service, we receive the basic profile details that service shares with us.

Booking details

The therapist you choose, session type (online or in-person), dates and times, and payment confirmations. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored on Mindstel servers.

Clinical and intake information

Information you choose to share so your therapist can care for you safely — intake and case-history forms, presenting concerns, mental status and session notes your therapist records, outcome measures you complete, and messages exchanged within the platform. This is the most sensitive category we hold, and it is handled accordingly.

Technical information

Device and browser details, IP address and basic usage statistics, used to keep the platform secure, diagnose problems and understand which parts of the service are working well.

We do not collect sensitive information through hidden or passive means: everything clinical is entered by you or your therapist as part of your care.
03.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Match you with suitable therapists and manage your bookings, payments and reminders.
  • Make intake forms, case history and session notes available to your therapist so they can treat you.
  • Operate secure video sessions and in-platform messaging.
  • Provide support when you contact us, and protect the platform against fraud and misuse.
  • Meet legal, regulatory and professional record-keeping obligations that apply to mental healthcare.

We do not use your therapy content to advertise to you, and we do not use your personal information to train machine-learning models. Where we use automated tools, they assist with operations such as suggesting potentially suitable therapists based on the preferences you enter — a qualified professional always makes the final clinical decisions about your care.

04.

Confidentiality of your care

Confidentiality sits at the heart of therapy. What you say in a session, and what your therapist records, is treated as confidential clinical information. We restrict access to it, keep it separate from marketing and analytics data, and never use it for promotional purposes.

When confidentiality has limits:

Therapists are professionally and legally required to breach confidentiality in a small number of serious situations — typically where there is a real risk of serious harm to you or another person, or where the law compels disclosure. Your therapist should explain their own limits of confidentiality with you, usually in your first session.

In an emergency, Mindstel is not a crisis service. Please call 112 or the Tele-MANAS helpline at 14416, or contact your nearest emergency service.
05.

Who can see your information

Your therapist

Sees your booking details, intake and case-history forms, session notes and messages, so they can provide your care.

Mindstel staff

Access clinical records only where strictly necessary — for example to resolve a technical problem — under confidentiality obligations.

Session video

Video sessions are encrypted in transit. Sessions are not recorded by default; if a recording is ever made, it happens only with your explicit consent.

No public exposure

Your clinical information is never visible to other clients, other therapists, or anyone browsing the site.

06.

Security & storage

We protect your information with encryption while it travels to and from our servers and while it is stored. Access to clinical records is limited by role: a therapist can see the clients they treat, not the platform's wider records. We review our safeguards regularly and act quickly on any incident that could affect your information, notifying you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we design Mindstel so that a breach would be difficult, and so that the most sensitive information is the hardest to reach.
07.

Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers — companies that help us run the platform, such as hosting, video calling, messaging, email and payment processing. They receive only what they need and are bound to protect it.
  • Your therapist's professional context — where your therapist works within a clinic or supervisory structure, professional confidentiality rules may apply to those settings as well.
  • Legal requirements — where we are legally compelled, for example by a court order or a lawful request from an authority.
  • Serious safety situations — where permitted or required, to prevent serious harm to you or another person.
  • Business transfers — if Mindstel is ever merged or acquired, your information would remain protected under this policy or one at least as protective.
08.

How long we keep it

Clinical records:

Kept for the period required by professional record-keeping standards and applicable law, since therapists may need them for continuity of care.

Account & technical data:

Kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted or anonymised.

When a retention duty ends, we delete or de-identify the information in a way that cannot be restored.

09.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information, including the ability to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal information, subject to the legal and clinical retention duties described above.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing, such as marketing emails, at any time.
  • Ask us how your information has been used and who it has been shared with.

We respond to every request as promptly as we can. Some clinical information may be subject to professional record-keeping rules; where that is the case, we will explain it clearly.

10.

Children & minors

Mindstel is intended for adults. Where a minor attends therapy — for example, a child booked in by a parent or guardian — we rely on the consent of the parent or guardian and the professional judgement of the therapist, and we keep the minor's information protected with the same care as everyone else's. If you believe a child's account has been created without appropriate consent, please contact us.

11.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used at an aggregate level. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect sign-in and booking.

12.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves or the law changes. When we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change.
